Inter Milan chiefs decide against keeping hold of Alexis

Inter Milan chiefs have decided against signing permanently on-loan Manchester United striker Alexis Sanchez.

The Daily Mail says Guiseppe Marotta, the chief executive of Inter, does not want to pay the £17.5million (€20m) it would cost to snap him up on a permanent deal.

Marotta is being backed by Conte, who is no longer that keen on Sanchez and would rather turn to younger and less expensive options.

At United, Sanchez’s £400,000-a-week salary has become an albatross and the same is the case at Inter, where he has become the highest paid player per minute played in the entire Italian top flight.

Inter are going to have to splash out £4.3m (€5m) over the course of the season as part of the agreement to bring him in from United.

Given that he has played just 186 minutes, he has cost Inter a huge £22,000 (€26,000) per minute played.
