Iwobi celebrates Everton’s heart-warming victory over Chelsea

Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi was overwhelmed with joy after Everton’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea at the Goodison Park as he organised an all-night party to mark the victory.

The Super Eagles forward had to reach out to all Everton fans all over the world through his tweeter handle to celebrate the victory.

Iwobi was on from start to finish, and almost set up Richarlison for his second, but Kepa Arrizabalaga denied the former Watford man.

It was Iwobi’s 17th appearance of the season for Everton and has scored two goals in the process. The win takes Everton out of the relegation zone to 14th place with 17 points.

Meanwhile,Duncan Ferguson may not be Everton’s long-term choice to succeed sacked manager Marco Silva – but he produced enough in 90 minutes to ensure his time in charge will never be forgotten

“I just thought possibly Tom would give us fresh legs and get nearer on the press.

“It was nothing to do with how Richarlison played.

“I wanted the fresh legs and knew I could drop Tom into midfield if needed.

“I think most people thought I’d play 4-4-2. You can press the ball with two strikers and I think we did that well.

Ferguson is waiting on news of Lucas Digne after the Frenchman was forced off late in Saturday’s game with a groin complaint.

Walcott was replaced by Bernard with four minutes to play after suffering from cramps.

Ferguson’s goal celebrations conjured memories of one the most famous of his 72 Everton strikes, a Goodison header against Manchester United he marked with an iconic shirt-twirling sprint in front of the Main Stand.

“The shirt would never come off this time and I was a bit slower as well,” said Ferguson.

“But I knew the third goal would be crucial.
