Arsenal star, Alex Iwobi is already anticipating a great World Cup campaign for the Super Eagles that he can’t wait to be in Russia.

The Nigerian international will not have to wait too long as the team will arrive in Russia today.

The pacy player who scored Nigeria’s only goal in the friendly against England at Wembley said the Eagles are not scared of the big teams.

“It’s been good for us in camp. We’re preparing well and we are full of confidence especially because of the way we qualified which in my opinion was from one of the toughest groups.” Iwobi stated in an interview with SportingLife.ng in Bad Tatzmannsdorf where the Eagles camped for eight days before jetting out to Russia today

” We have been able to show the world our qualities and abilities. I can’t wait to get to Russia”

The player said the reason they didn’t win their last two friendly matches was due to the fact that the technical crew were experimenting with different tactics and formations to arrive at the most suitable for the team.

“It’s not really a problem because we are just preparing by using different tactics and formations to get the most suitable for the team. Therefore, we don’t need to be judged with the results of the friendlies matches we played
” We know that the coach will decide on the best formation and tactics but on our part as players, we will always give our best’

Iwobi insisted the Eagles have showed that they are not afraid of facing the big teams despite the fact that most the players are young and appearing at the World Cup for the first time.

“It’s true we have a very young squad but we are enthusiastic. We are full of confidence going to the World Cup.

” More importantly, we are still able to perform against the big teams. Of course its going to be a new challenge for most of us in the team because it’s our first World Cup.

“But I want to appeal to our fans to be patient with us because we are still learning and have bright future in the

national team”
