Super Eagles attacker Alex Iwobi has not given up on Arsenal’s chances of qualifying for the final of the Europa League despite a 1-1 draw in the first leg against Atletico Madrid at the Emirates.

Arsenal face Atletico tonight at the Wanda Metropolitano in Spain in the return leg to determine who progresses to the Europa League final.

The Gunners forward has insisted that the players are motivated to win the title.

““We are really motivated – especially by what he (Wenger) has done for the club,” Iwobi told Sky Sports News.

“We are trying to make him end the season on a high. And not just for him but for ourselves as well, so we are doing our best to get the result.

“We are very confident. We were unfortunate not to get the result we wanted against them in the first leg, but we are very confident and believe we can go to the final.”

The Nigerian international who missed the first leg has been cleared for Thursday’s match after suffering a hamstring injury in Sunday’s Premier League clash against Manchester United.

From the records, Arsenal have only won two of their 29 meetings against a Spanish side on away soil.

They have won 8 at home and overall drawn 7 and lost 12 times which includes their 3-1 defeat to Barcelona in the 2011 UEFA Champions league quarter final at the Camp Nou on March 8.
