January 22 is Referee Salima Mukansanga Day!

 

CAF has approved for wave making Rwandan referee Salima Mukansanga to have an interactive session with media practitioners  eager to know about her and her romance with the Whistle.

According to Cafonline the Mukansanga who made history as the first woman to officiate  match at the Nations cup when she stepped into the centre in the match between Guinea and Zimbabwe on Tuesday will have the opportunity of interacting with the press on January 22 at the Japoma Stadium Annex.

According to the release “Media are invited for an opportunity to film/take photos and also interact (interviews) with referee Salima Mukansanga”

Other match officials will equally be available with CAF Referee Instructor in attendance. Mukansanga’s feat is not only seen as a commendable achievement but a challenge to young ladies across the continent that they can aspire to greater heights and achieve their goals in life.

The Continental soccer ruling body had earlier given Mukansanga a pat on the back for her professional conduct in the course of her duty.
