Joe Aribo on target as Rangers hammer Ross County 5-0

Super Eagles ace Joe Aribo was on target on Saturday as Rangers took Ross County to the cleaners in the Scottish league.

The Nigerian international grabbed the third goal of the match in the 37th minute of the match, to contribute his own quota in marking Steven Gerrard’s 150 games in charge.

Ryan Kent opened scoring for Rangers as in the 6th minute. Kent’s goal appeared to have opened the floodgate as his other teammates began to register their names on the score sheet with goals coming in the 28th, 37th, 66th and 81st minutes respectively

The runaway league leaders could afford to see skipper James Tavernier miss his second penalty in succession and still grab a three-goal half-time lead thanks to strikes from Ryan Kent, Filip Helander and Joe Aribo.

But Rangers continued their relentless march towards the title as goals from Ryan Jack – on his return from injury – and Connor Goldson completed the unbeaten Gers’ 12th straight home league win of the season.

Gerrard now has 98 victories under his belt as boss and with a 23-point lead over Celtic, only nine more are required to crown his side champions.
