Kalu’s mother’s kidnap: Gernot Rohr DEVASTATED

 

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has disclosed to SportingLife.ng that he was devastated hearing the news of the kidnap of the mother of one of his dependable players in the Super Eagles Samuel Kalu who also play for Bordeaux of France.

The Franco-German football tactician said that the kidnap news hit him like a rock because the affected player was enjoying good football life in Bordeaux and have since settled down nicely there only for him to receive this unpleasant news at the time the player’s mind was on how to beat Seychelles and Egypt in Asaba, Delta State come March 22nd and March 26th (2019).


“I am devastated. In fact I am having headache already hearing the news of Samuel Kalu’s mother’s kidnap”, Rohr disclosed to SportingLife.ng from his base in France.
Rohr also emphasised on the fact that “Kalu is one of the very important players in the Super Eagles’ team. I have been talking to him to calm him down and have also assured him that the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation will definitely help him out because we have been discussing with the NFF on this issue. I was also told that the security forces in the country have been making efforts to secure the release of Samuel Kalu’s mother”, Rohr assured.
Kalu had on Sunday evening told SportingLife.ng the story of how his mother was kidnapped.
“Please help me beg them to release my mother because my ambition is to do everything within my powers and capabilities to help the Super Eagles win the forthcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations”, Samuel Kalu told SportingLife.ng while sobbing.
“My mother was kidnapped on Wednesday 27th of last month- February when she was going back home. The kidnappers asked for the ransom of N3 million the first time, which was given to them and they assured us that they will release her.

“We waited the whole night we did not see her. The next morning they called again that they want more money that the money was given to another person. Now, they are asking for the ransom of N15 million. The police is aware about it. The Commissioner of Police in Abia State knows about it too”, Kalu first broke the news of his mother’s kidnap to SportingLife.ng from France on Sunday.
