Kayode ends goal drought for Sivasspor

Super Eagles striker, Kayode Olarenwaju, ended his goal drought when he scored in Sivasspor’s 3-1 win over Konyaspor at Yeni 4 Eylul Stadium, on Sunday.

Olanrewaju has been without a goal for the Turkish Super Lig side in 2021, but his latest strike brought an end to a run of seven matches without a goal.

The former Manchester City forward who started the match on the bench was thrown into the fray for Mustapha Yatabare seven minutes after the hour mark.

Olanrewaju made an immediate impact as he scored his side’s second of the game two minutes after his introduction. He collected a pass from Hakan Arslan and cooly find the target from close range.

Mustapha Yabatare had given Sivasspor the lead in the 27th minute of the encounter before Zymer Bytyqi made it 1-1 in the 56th minutes.

Sivasspor were later reduced to ten-man as Hakan Arslan was shown a straight red by referee Zorbay Kucuk with 10 minutes left the play.

The away side pressed for the equalizer, but Sivasspor held on to grab the three points as Robin Yalcin killed the contest with the third goal two minutes from time.
