Keane questions Lingard’s future at Man Utd

Manchester United great Roy Keane has questioned Jesse Lingard’s future at Old Trafford.

Referring to his England chances, Keane said Lingard currently finds himself in a difficult position with opportunities at Old Trafford likely to be limited. He was asked if Lingard is in “no man’s land” at his club.

“That’s the exactly the words I would use,” Keane told ITV Sport. “It’s been difficult, you thought he’d get a move.

“It’s another opportunity for Jesse to get 90 minutes under his belt and maybe score a goal because he’s a good player, he just needs to play regularly.”

Lingard will take another look at moving to West Ham United in the January transfer window.

Lingard is prepared to compete for a first-team spot at United in the first half of this campaign, despite the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus.

According to 90Min, Lingard will revisit the possibility of a loan or permanent departure in the winter, if he is not playing regularly.

The attacker excelled for England on international duty, scoring twice as the Three Lions bested Andorra 4-0 in a World Cup Qualifier.

West Ham United boss David Moyes still wants to sign Lingard, but the club were not prepared to meet Man United’s valuation of the Englishman.
