Klostermann extends stay with Leipzig until 2028

Germany defender Lukas Klostermann has extended his deal at RB Leipzig until 2028, the club announced on Thursday.

The 27-year-old, who arrived when Leipzig were in the second division in 2014, extended his contract in Saxony by four years.

“This summer marks my 10-year anniversary at the club” Klostermann said in a statement.

“Everything here – the club, the city and the fans – is amazing, which is why I’m extremely excited to keep making history with RB Leipzig.”

The defender has made 22 appearances for Germany, but has played for his country just once since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Klostermann’s 278 appearances for Leipzig rank fifth-most in club history, and he has scored 14 times.

He has featured in four German Cup finals, winning in 2022 and 2023.
