Super Eagles must deliver in Côte d’Ivoire — Ideye

Former Super Eagles striker and 2013 AFCON winner, Brown Ideye says the current squad is good enough to lift 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

Ideye, a pivotal member of the squad that last won the title in 2013 believes, the time is right for Nigeria to win fourth AFCON crown.

Since 2013, Super Eagles have struggled to make a meaningful impact in the tournament.

After 2013 success in South Africa, the Eagles reached semi-final in 2019 just once, missed two editions and failed to go beyond round of 16 once.

With the tournament few days away, Ideye says, it is time to win again.

“No excuses this time because this squad has what it takes to win it,” Ideye said via his new X account.

The team have been drawn in same Group as hosts Ivory Coast, Equitorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau.
