Boxing Association of Kwara will on Thursday host their Ekiti counterparts in a one-day challenge contest on Wednesday.
The association in a statement by its Head of media, Yusuf Feruke on Wednesday in Ilorin said the competition would take place at the Indoor Sports Hall of the state’s Stadium Complex.
Quoting the Boxing Coach in the state, Michael James, Feruke said the competition was aimed at preparing the boxers adequately for the upcoming National Open Championship slated for Abuja later this month.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that nine boxers comprising, seven male and two females will represent Kwara at the competition.
The challenge contest is being sponsored by the state’s Chairman of the association, Musa Ahmed and will start at 2 p.m.
