Liverpool considering Ramsey to replace Georginio Wijnaldum
Liverpool are “considering” a transfer for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey to replace Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Dutchman, following months of speculation, has reportedly signed a pre-contract agreement to join Barcelona at the end of the season following the end of his contract.
With 40 appearances this season, the 30-year-old will leave a big gap in Jurgen Klopp’s squad to be filled.
And Italian outlet CalcioMerceto have reported that the Anfield side are now chasing ex-Arsenal man Ramsey to fill it.
The Welshman has been with Juventus for the last two seasons, leaving north London after 11 seasons and 369 appearances.
But it has been a disastrous two seasons for the midfielder, making just 61 appearances due to injuries.
It has seen speculation emerge of a potential return to Arsenal – but the report states that Liverpool have “joined the race” for him.
And a factor that could play into Klopp’s hands in the Italian side’s difficult financial situation.
Juventus announced losses of £99m in the first half of their campaign, which currently sees them 10 points off leaders Inter.

It has led to speculation £89m man Cristiano Ronaldo could be moved on and Ramsey heading off as part of a reshuffle.
But Juventus’ poor form saw Pirlo get forced to defend his reasons for leaving Ramsey out of the squad ahead of taking on Cagliari earlier this month.
