Lloris spends £15,000 on dog to protect family

Hugo Lloris splashed out £15,000 on a specially-trained guard dog just two weeks before his Tottenham team-mate Dele Alli was robbed at knifepoint.

Lloris made the investment to protect his wife Marine and their three children from similar incidents while he is away from home playing for Spurs.

According to ESPN, the Frenchman’s new Belgian Shepherd was bought from a London-based company which specialises in guard dogs.

Lloris’ wife shared an image of the dog stood on a climbing frame in their back garden to Instagram earlier this month, adding the hashtags ‘#ourbodyguard’, ‘#inlove’ and ‘#bestfriend’.

The Spurs goalkeeper may have been inspired by international team-mates Paul Pogba and Alexandre Lacazette, who also bought guard dogs last year.

The Manchester United man purchased a rottweiler, while Arsenal striker Lacazette has a blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Alli was held up along with his brother, their partners, and another man at his £2million north London home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The Sun claims that a number of Premier League stars have been snapping up guard dogs from security firms during the lockdown, with Manchester United duo Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jesse Lingard among them.
