Loan Move: Nwakali to complete Porto medical next week

Portuguese club Porto have agreed to sign former Nigeria junior international Kelechi Nwakali on a season-long loan deal ahead of the 2018-2019 season from Arsenal.

Sportinglife,ng understands that the deal will be completed once the player passes his medical in the coming days.

“Kelechi has left for Portugal and we all hope it ends well,” a source told Sportinglife.ng

It will be the third time that Nwakali will be sent out on loan by Arsenal since moving to the Emiratess in 2016.

An excited Nwakali who is best remembered for the stunner of a goal he scored against Atletico Madrid in a friendly last May confirmed the move on his Instagram page by posting a picture of him departing Nigeria.

“Back to work. #nawedeyhere Portugal, Porto.” posted the player who made 64 appearances for Dutch clubs VVV Venlo and MVV across all competitions, scoring 8 goals and creating six assist while on loan.

The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles captain is under contract with the English Premier League club until 2021.
