The Nigeria midfielder who joined Stoke City on a five year deal shortly before the Commencement of the World Cup is expected to join his new teammates in the second week of July for pre season training.

He may play a part in Stoke’s friendly matches once he hits England from vacation.

Gary Rowett’s side will also face Meppen, Hamburg, Wolverhampton Wanderers and St. Pauli in friendly matches before their opening day fixture in the Championship against Leeds United.

The 22-year-old who was one of Nigeria’s standout performers at the World Cup is yet to be handed his jersey number.

Stoke who were relegated from the Premier League side in May signed Etebo for £6.35 million from Portuguese side CD Fairense.
