Man United legend hails Chukwueze’s goal against Newcastle

England legend, Rio Ferdinand lauded Samuel Chukwueze for his impressive goal during AC Milan’s UEFA Champions League match against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, on Wednesday night.

Chukwueze, introduced into the game, wasted no time scoring a crucial goal just 70 seconds later.

The 23-year-old executed a flawless counter-attack, capping it off with a splendid curler into the top-left corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

Rio Ferdinand, who was on punditry duties for TNT Sports, commended Chukwueze’s goal, describing it as a fabulous strike.

“It’s a fabulous strike. Leao had one similar in the first half and messed it up. Transition, turnover, chasing the game and this is when it can go wrong for you.

“Great burst of pace through the middle there and this is all about timing your runs, patience. The weight of that ball tells the wide man what he needs to do.

“The patience of the player on the ball here before it is released, and then the pace of the ball, rolls it slowly, tells
him exactly what to do. It’s a great strike.”

Despite the three points, Milan dropped to the Europa League, while Chukwueze finished the Champions League campaign with two goals.
