Man United make contract proposal to Napoli’s Kim – report

Manchester United have offered Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae a ‘colossal’ contract offer in an attempt to lure him away from Campania in the summer, according to Sebastian Denis of Footmercato.

The South Korean giant has a release clause in his current Napoli contract worth €60m, which teams outside of Italy will be able to activate in the summer.

Amidst interest from the Premier League, particularly from Erik ten Hag’s United and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool as well as from Paris Saint-Germain, Kim has reportedly resisted Napoli’s attempts to remove the release clause from his contract.

Now, it has been confirmed by Denis that a meeting between Kim’s entourage and representatives from Old Trafford took place a number of weeks ago and United revealed that they would be willing to offer an enormous deal to bring the Serie A champion to the Premier League.

Whilst no official figures have been disclosed, the report claims that United are prepared to offer the 26-year-old a “colossal” deal on a wage packet “worthy of a star striker.”

United are also reportedly able to offer Kim an almost guaranteed position in their starting XI, with captain Harry Maguire’s future at the club uncertain and with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane prone to picking up the occasional injury setback.

If Napoli were to let Kim go, they would receive a substantial return on their original €18m investment paid to Fenerbahce last summer.
