Man Utd defender Bailly vows to help Diallo settle

The winger has joined United from Atalanta and Bailly is happy to be joined by a fellow Ivorian.

Bailly said the 18-year-old is a huge talent, though advised United fans to be patient with Diallo. The wide man has played just four senior games for Atalanta in Serie A but is highly rated both in Italy and back home in the Ivory Coast.

“I know Amad,” Bailly told United’s official website. “I speak to him. He’s a young player with good talents but we know it is important to keep calm with any new guys.

Bailly vowed to help Diallo settle in at Old Trafford as quickly as possible, with supporters of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side keen to see the new youngster in action.

“I am ready to help him. I’m ready to help every player,” Bailly added. “That, for me, is very important. When I came to this team, I had players with big experience. I remember [Wayne] Rooney, Ibra [Zlatan Ibrahimovic], Antonio Valencia. Players like this helped me when I came. So when young players come, it’s very important to help these guys.”

Bailly also added that Diallo is a good character who will fit in well at United.

He said: “He’s a top man. I speak with him and speak with the family. Now the guy is very happy to sign for Manchester United. Everybody waits for him and that’s it.”
