Man Utd keen on landing centre-back on loan

Manchester United are reportedly looking at bringing in a defender on loan after losing Harry Maguire to injury.

The Manchester Evening News claims Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is mounting a desperate search for a new centre-back after Maguire was ruled out with a hip injury.

However, the United boss does not want to sign a replacement on a permanent deal.

He instead would like to secure a back-up on loan until the summer.

But Solskjaer could have some trouble finding a top-level player available for a short-term switch.

He missed United’s embarrassing 3-1 Carabao Cup semi-final first leg defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday.
