Milan keep racking up records

Milan continued to rack up records with their extraordinary start to this Serie A season, their best since 1954-55, with a new club run of games on target.

Stefano Pioli’s men are five points clear at the top of the table and still unbeaten in Serie A since the lockdown in March.

Their 2-1 win over Sampdoria this evening means they have eight victories in the opening 10 rounds, their best start since nine successes in 1954-55.

Milan have found the net in each of their last 30 Serie A matches, a new all-time club record beating the previous best of 29 set in 1972-73.

The Diavolo scored at least two goals in each of their last 12 Serie A matches, something they hadn’t managed since 1958-59.

The Rossoneri have won seven consecutive Serie A away fixtures, something they achieved only twice before in 1964 with Nils Liedholm on the bench and in 1993 under Fabio Capello, when the run stretched to nine.
