Moffi nominated for UNFP Player of the Month for Sept

OGC Nice striker Terem Moffi is in the running for the Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels Player of the Month for September 2023 – an award that recognizes the best Ligue 1 player each month of the season.

Moffi has been shortlisted for the award alongside former Chelsea goalkeeper Marcin Bułka (OGC Nice) and Ajax-reared glovesman Marco Bizot (Stade Brestois).

Having fired blanks in his first three games of the 2023-2024 season, the Nigeria international was in red-hot form in September, scoring three goals and registering an assist in three matches.

Moffi netted a brilliant goal against Strasbourg on September 3 before scoring a brace in Nice’s impressive 3-2 road win against Paris Saint-Germain on September 15, in a match where he also delivered an assist to Gaëtan Laborde.

OGC Nice won all the three Ligue 1 matches they played last month with their number 9 logging 248 minutes in total.

Moffi is aiming to follow in the footsteps of John Utaka (February 2006), Vincent Enyeama (October and November 2013) and Victor Osimhen (September 2019) who have all won the UNFP Player of the Month award in the past.

The former Lorient man has reported for international duty in Portugal ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
