Nigeria international Victor Moses has entered the record books of premier league side Chelsea by becoming the first player of the club to lose with his national team at the on-going FIFA World Cup  in Russia.

Moses who is one of the key members of the senior team that head coach Gernot Rohr will be depending on to redeem’s the country’s image against Iceland in their next group game on Friday was not spared by the former league champions for Nigeria’s defeat

Doing a review of matches which has involved their players representing their countries at the tournament, the former League Champions said the Eagles performance against their European opponents led to their defeat.

”Victor Moses became the first Chelsea player to suffer defeat at Russia 2018 when a lacklustre display from Nigeria resulted in defeat by Croatia.

”Moses started on the left of the Nigeria line-up but soon moved into an attacking position on the right and took most set-pieces, but he and his team-mates, who included John Mikel Obi in the no.10 position, rarely threatened,” the club wrote on its website.

Nigeria are bottom of group D, with Croatia topping while Argentina and Iceland are second and third with a point each.
