Mourinho clashes with Juventus players after taunting fans

Jose Mourinho riled Juventus’ players and fans with his celebrations after Manchester United’s win over Juventus .

United fought back from a goal down to strike twice late on to secure another famous Champions League victory in Turin.

Cristiano Ronaldo had volleyed Juve ahead before Juan Mata equalised with a free-kick.

Alex Sandro then turned Ashley Young’s free-kick into his own net to spark jubilant scenes in the away end and on the touchline.

At the final whistle Mourinho raced onto the pitch and cupped his ear towards the Juve fans, having been taunted over his time at Inter during the game, as he was at Old Trafford a fortnight ago.

Bonucci was among those to take exception to Mourinho’s behaviour before the United boss was shepherded off the pitch by staff members.

On his behaviour, Mourinho said: “”The game was a very good game, a high level game. It doesn’t matter at the end. We performed at a high level.

“I made a little thing. I respect Juventus, their players, their manager, everything.

“I am very proud of my boys.”

But United legend Paul Scholes suggested Mourinho’s behaviour was uncalled for.

“You need to win with a bit of class. I don’t think there is any need for that. Go over and clap the away fans,” he said.

“It is needless but that is just the way he is.”

At Old Trafford a fortnight ago, Mourinho made a three-fingered gesture to Juve fans after being taunted over his future.

That gesture was in reference to the treble he won with Inter in 2010.

The United boss could also face a domestic touchline ban for comments he made after United’s win over Juventus.

Mourinho was alleged to have swore in Portuguese to a television camera as he walked off the pitch.

United successfully contested the charge but the FA will appeal against that decision.
