Moyes disappointed despite Lingard’s run against Leeds

West Ham United have continued their unlucky push for a Champions League spot with a 2-0 victory over Leeds United.

The Hammers are two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, but they have a game in hand on their London rivals.

Jesse Lingard, on loan from Manchester United, won West Ham a penalty when he was fouled by Luke Ayling after 21 minutes.

Lingard’s spot-kick was initially saved by Illan Meslier but the Englishman converted the rebound.

Leeds had two goals disallowed as Tyler Roberts’ finish was ruled out for a marginal offside, while Patrick Bamford was denied after Raphinha was out of bounds before crossing.

And the visitors were punished when Aaron Cresswell set-up Craig Dawson for West Ham’s second goal.

Despite claiming the victory, Moyes was disappointed with his side’s performance.
