Napoli players have hired bodyguards for fear they could be attacked by fans following a fallout with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
Senegal defender Kalidou Koulibaly has already hired a bodyguard to act as security for himself and his family while Lorenzo Insigne’s wife has allegedly fled Naples.
The latest development comes after Napoli’s players refused to take part in a training retreat which was demanded by De Laurentiis after a poor run of form. De Laurentiis has threatened to deduct up to 25 percent of his players’ salaries as he looks to fine his stars. And the controversial owner would reportedly sell his entire squad if given the chance as the club’s civil war rumbles on.

Napoli are seventh in Serie A after picking up just five wins from their first 12 games.
