National Sports Festival: 100m deaf gold winner plans to build personal house

Abuja 2018 National Sport Festival 100m deaf athletics gold medalist Assurance Omoria has vowed to win a medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

She also expressed gratitude to her mother for her prayers that made her win gold in the race and she is now planning to build her own personal apartment having completed her father’s building through the cash awards she got for winning silver in Eko Festival six (6) years ago.

Omoria’s Coach Dr. Sunny Edosa who is also the athlete interpreter disclosed to Sportinglife.ng in Abuja.

“Assurance Omoria is very happy to win gold in 100m for the deaf athletics at this Abuja National Sports Festival.

“Before today’s final I called her Mun and her Mum prayed for her. She couldn’t win gold in the last Festival- Eko 2012 because two months before that Festival, Assurance lost her father and that naturally unsettled and destabilized her which affected her performance then. But she still managed this win silver then.

” She is the bread winner for her family. After the Eko Sports Festival six years ago, the money she realized was able to complete her father’s house. Now her Mum believes that after the Abuja 2018 Festival things would be better for her family. She is now planning to acquire her own property and move on with her life.

“She just gave birth last year and she is very determined. She came to this Abuja 2018 Sports Festival with the full determination that she was going to beat all comers to win gold and she did. She has always been a worthy athlete for Edo State”, Omoria disclosed through Coach Edosa.
