Super Falcons ahead of their France Friendly in April

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have dropped First Assistant Coach Wemimo Oni, Team Secretary Dupe Shabi and Second goalkeepers’ trainer Taiwo Omobolanle Tundun from the Super Falcons technical set-up, SportingLife.ng can exclusively report.

According to our very reliable source, the decision to drop the trio was taken after the team’s international friendly against France in April following unfavourable reports from the team’s camp.

There are allegations that the officials were not professional in the discharge of their duties which did not go down well with head coach, Thomas Dennerby.

“We understand that they were more interested in dividing the team and that should not be. We expect team work from everyone and not people being sentimental.

“So when the coach demanded that they be changed we had no option since he is the one in charge,”” our source said.

Although our source declined to provide the real reasons why they were removed, there are indications that Dennerby has not been particularly impressed with the contributions of the trio since joining the team on a two-year deal in January.

While the NFF have replaced Shabi with the U-20 Women’s team secretary, Mary Obuduku, there are indications that former Flamingoes assistant coach, Justin Madugu may replace Oni.

Also touted for the positon is head coach of the U-20 Women’s National Team Chris Danjuma. Obuduku an NFF staff will be the fourth secretary for the team.

A decision is expected to be taken on Tuesday (today) by the NFF before the team regroups for the Africa Women
Championship (AWC) qualifier against Gambia later this month.

Recalled that the Falcons were pummelled 8-0 by France in a recent friendly.
