Nigeria impress at 2nd African Beach Games in Tunisia

Nigeria is currently participating in 11 thrilling events at the highly anticipated 2nd African Beach Games, holding in Tunisia.

The Games which commenced on June 22 will end on June 30, 2023, and serve as a crucial qualification phase for the upcoming World Beach Games in Bali, Indonesia, scheduled for August 4 – 12, 2023.

In a release signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Olympic Committee NOC, Mr Tony Nnezianya, he explained that the events cover a wide range of sports, ensuring a diverse and exciting competition for both participants and spectators alike.

One of the innovations in this year’s edition is the inclusion of Teqball, a relatively new sport that combines elements of soccer and table tennis. Nigeria is fielding a competitive team of three players, who will battle it out against the other nations in this unique and exciting sport.

Mr Nnezianya also said that the Nigerian contingent to the games is led by the President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee NOC, Engr. Habu Gumel.

The tournament is being hosted by the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa, ANOCA.
