Nigerian Midfielder rejects new Watford contract after spending 10 years

Former U-20 invitee Jayden Bennetts is set to leave Premier League side, Watford, at the end of the 2019-2020 season.

The midfielder decided against extending his contract with the club that he joined 10 years ago at the U-8 level decided against extending his contract.

The club wanted to trigger the one-year option which they signed with the 18-year-old last summer. He is now free to join another club in the upcoming transfer window.

Bennetts rose through the ranks before making his professional debut in an FA Cup third-round replay against Tranmere Rovers in January 2020.

The youngster has a Nigerian father and a German mother but was born in England which makes him eligible to play for either of the countries.
