No victor no vanquished for Doma, Sporting Lagos,Akwa beat Enyimba

Sporting Lagos held their own as they pulled a draw against Doma United in the NPFL at the Pantami Township Stadium (Gombe) Monday (today).

Statistics of the encounter indicate that the Doma boys dominated proceedings ratio 65% to 35% possession fired seven shots on target as against Sporting Lagos two but all that failed to translate into a goal.

But the visitors took first in the area of fouls committed recording 19 as against 12 involving Doma United. Doma no doubt will count themselves lucky to have shared points rather than losing, which would have added to their woes. 

Doma have lost four of their last five matches managing to pull a 1-1 draw against Rivers United. A defeat by Sporting Lagos would have meant five losses in six matches. 

Sporting Lagos on their part have been in scintillating form winning three and losing two of their last five matches heading into today’s clash with Doma.

Doma will next confront Enyimba away while Sporting Lagos host next door neighbours Remo Stars

In other matches played today, Abia warriors stunned Kano Pillars by a lone goal at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano thanks to Daniel Ijeh, while Akwa United handed visiting Enyimba a 3-1 defeat at the Godswill Akpabio international stadium otherwise called the nest of Champions.

A 79th minute penalty was the only consolation for the Peoples Elephant which was converted by Chijioke Mbaoma.
