Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo now looks set to sign for La Liga side CD Leganes on loan after hitting Madrid on Monday.

Leganes have the option of buying Omeruo, at €5m with a 20% sell-on clause as well, should he transfer out from Leganes in the future.

There is no upfront loan fee for the center back, with the deal expected to be announced shortly.

Omeruo has been on Chelsea’s books since January 2012, but never broke into the first-team.

He’s spent the last three years playing in Turkey for Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor and has collected over 150 professional appearances and 40 caps for Nigeria (including a couple at the World Cup this summer) over the course of his loans.

Leganes are based on the outskirts of Madrid and barely escaped relegation this past season.
