Onyekuru, Akpeyi, 7 others hit Eagles camp, work out in gym
Nine players have hit the Super Eagles camp in Asaba, the Delta State capital, ahead of the top of the table Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, team media officer, Toyin Ibitoye has revealed
The early birds are Henry Onyekuru, Jamilu Collins, Moses Simon, Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Mikel Agu, Olamilekan Adeleye and Daniel Akpeyi.
The players loosened up at the gym ahead of Tuesday’s training which won’t be open to the public. Onyekuru who fired a brace for Turkish club, Galatasaray at the weekend replaces injured Odion Ighalo.
Ibitoye told Sportinglife.ng that more players are being expected.
“Ahead of our #2019AFCONQ vs @BafanaBafana. Our camp opens in Asaba tomorrow (monday). Only the training session of Wed., Nov. 14, 2018 is open, other sessions will be closed. Our press parley holds next Monday, Nov. 19, ahead of the international friendly vs Uganda,” read the message on the team’s Tweeter handle on Sunday.

The 23 players invited will fly out on Thursday aboard a chartered plane at 5pm.
Nigeria only needs a win or draw to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon next year June.
