Onyekuru rallies support for Eagles despite World Cup miss

Although he is yet to get over his exclusion from the Super Eagles’ team to 2018 Russia World Cup, Everton striker Henry Onyekuru, has called on Nigerians to support the Eagles in their quest to do the nation proud in Russia.

He also vowed to rally support for the team.

The pacy on-loan Everton star is still reflecting on the event which led to his ouster from the Eagles 2018 World Cup list schedule for Russia after enduring an injury plagued season in Belgium.

The 21- year-old striker is however, backing the Super Eagles to succeed at the 2018 Russia World Cup
and also asked Nigerians to pray and support the team as they hope to surpass their previous
statistics.

Onyekuru, took to his official Twitter page to express his feelings over his exclusion from the World
Cup Squad.

‘’it has taken me some time to sit and reflect over the past year. Although it is disappointing not to
be selected after a difficult season, everything is God’s will,’’ Onyekuru wrote in his twitter page.

‘’I have faith in my brothers to make Nigeria proud; I am not there in body but definitely in spirit. I
will support and watch the team every step of the way. As a country we must pray and get behind the
team to hopefully make history,’’ the forward added.

The striker has one cap for the Super Eagles and did not featured in any game for the country during
the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles will today face the Czech Republic in pre-World Cup friendly as they continue their
preparation ahead of the Mundial.
