Osimhen back from AFCON better, says Di Lorenzo

Giovanni Di Lorenzo highlighted Victor Osimhen’s impactful return from the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria, emphasizing the forward’s
crucial role in helping Napoli secure a 1-1 draw against Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Despite Robert Lewandowski breaking the deadlock in a game Barcelona dominated, Osimhen, in his first match back from the AFCON, delivered a decisive response, leveling the score.

“Osimhen is a champion and he returned with the right mindset. He will give us a hand, just as Simeone and Raspadori will, now the coach has a lot of options to choose from,” Di Lorenzo told Amazon Prime Video Italia.

Following Osimhen’s goal, Di Lorenzo suggests that the Champions League qualification is now wide open for Napoli.

“It was a good performance against a strong team that is full of champions.

“We saw some of what we managed to try in training yesterday, we were solid and that is an important starting point,” he added.
