Osimhen leads FIFA-U-17 World Cup ALL-TIME TOP GOAL SCORERS

 

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen is leading the all time goal scorers of the FIFA U-17 World Cup which gets underway today in Brazil with the Eaglets squaring up against Hungary

Osimhen who is still in the spotlight following his present performance with French side, Lille scored 10 goals to win the golden boot at the 2015 edition held in Chile.

Since then no player has been able to match Osimhen’s record in the competition which is considered a breeding ground for future talents.

Meanwhile, Nigeria and Brazil are the only two countries with the highest number of goals in the age grade tournament.

In the history of the competition which became U-17 in 1991 from U-16, the Brazilians have scored 180 goals, followed by Nigeria with 149 while Spain are third with 114 goals.

Spain also holds the record of scoring the most goals in a single match in Egypt in 1997, when they defeated New Zealand 13-0.
