Osimhen targets nine goals to equal Obafemi Martins UCL record

Rave of the moment, Victor Osimhen, has an uphill task of surpassing the goal scoring record of Nigeria international, Obafemi in the 2019 UEFA Champions League.

Osimhen needs nine goals to equal Martins record of 10 goals which he secured while playing for Inter Milan, Rubin Kazan, and Wolfsburg during the elite competition.

He is expected to be on parade when Lille host Valencia on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old Osimhen who has been quite prolific in goal for Lille that he joined from Sporting Chaleroi in Belgium has one UCL goal after two appearances.

He is closely followed by Julius Aghahowa, Emmanuel Emenike, Victor Ikpeba, and Yakubu Aiyegbeni who
scored seven goals each.

Super Eagles vice-captain Ahmed Musa has six goals while Brown Ideye and Nwankwo Kanu have five goals each.
