Osimhen vows to continue to justify confidence reposed in him by Napoli boss Spalletti
Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen has vowed to pay back the confidence Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti reposed in him.
The Super Eagles striker has scored five goals in his last three games for the Italian club.
“Spalletti helped me with the trust he gave me and I hope to repay it,” Osimhen told DAZN.
“I’m honoured to have a coach like him. He gives me a lot, after training, we still work hard together.”

Spalletti has over the years got the strikers under his watch to fire at full cylinders and that is looking like the case again with Osimhen this season.
Last season, injuries and Covid-19 infection combined to ensure he scored only 10 goals in his first season in Serie A.
He said he is pleased with his great start in the new campaign.
“For me, it is important to start well, this gives me the confidence to score more goals,” he said.
“I’m happy with my performances.
“I’m sorry for what happened last year between Covid-19 and injury.”
Napoli remain top of the standings with the perfect 15 points after five games.
