Our goals against Libya were wonderful–Rohr

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has described the team’s goals against Libya in the double header of the Africa Cup of Nations as wonderful while acknowledging that the team is getting better by the day.

The Eagles scored a total of seven goals against the Mediterranean Knights in both the home and away matches of the Afcon qualifier which Rohr to top Group E with nine points. Rohr has also attributed the progress to the collective spirit in the team.

“We saw the tapes of Libya and we saw they were a very good side. But l could see in my team a new spirit. I observed that we were beginning to get better by the day after we returned from the FIFA World Cup. The experience was growing with the way we were managing the situation and that made me very happy,” Rohr said on Monday Night of Football on SuperSport.

Rohr hopes to see the goals against South Africa on November 17 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg which victory or a draw would seal the country’s qualification to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
