Our target is to lift CAF Champions League—- Pillars Chairman
Newly appointed Chairman of Kano Pillars, Suraj Shuaibu, has revealed that the club is fully ready to take on Asante Kotoko of Ghana in the first leg of CAF Champions League knockout stage scheduled for Sunday August 10, 2019 in Kano.
Shuaibu who spoke to Sportinglife.ng in a telephone chat, said the players are in the best form now to take on any club irrespective of their pedigree in the local and continental competitions having played series of matches since the end of NPFL season with a boost as champion of Aiteo Cup.
” My team is physically and mentally prepared for the CAF Champions League. We have been on top of our games since the end of the season. We have not loss any match out 12 games . Our focus is to do well and lift the CAF Champions League. We kmow that our opponent (Asante Kotoko) is an old and popular team in the continent, just like Kano Pillars too,” said Shuaibu.
He said the state governor Abdullahi Ganduje has assured him that he will mske available all the necessary logistics and funds needed to execute the champions league including the first leg knock out game against Asante Kotoko.
Shuaibu further stated that the team will avoid what happened in the previous continental outing where they failed to make it to the group stage.

The players and officials of Kano Pillars are expected in Kano on August 5th from their training camp in Kaduna.
