Parma: Two players test positive for COVID-19

Parma announced two of their players have been isolated after testing positive for COVID-19 on one swab and negative on another.

A statement from the club confirmed that all members of the squad and staff – around 60 people – performed both double swabs and blood tests.

All the tests came back negative except for two players, who are asymptomatic and have been isolated.

“Both of them were positive on the first test and negative on the second that was performed 24 hours later. The athletes, both in excellent condition and asymptomatic, have nonetheless been immediately isolated and the club will monitor them constantly.”

The rest of the squad will go into a training retreat from Monday May 18, at which point group training will be allowed, as confirmed by the Prime Minister in this evening’s press conference.

Testing positive and then negative could mean they have made a full recovery, but all players must pass a double swab test before being allowed to train with their teammates.
