Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr believes his players were lucky to get the victory against a Polish side, that he thinks were the better side in yesterday’s friendly played at the Municipal Stadium in Wroclaw.

Rohr has however appealed to his players to remain humble and continue to work hard, reminding them they were not among the World Cup favourites, but to have a decent outing at the tournament.

“This team is a young team but also a team of leaders. If we stay humble and continue to work hard to improve our play we have huge potential, but beating 2 FIFA top 10 teams in friendlies doesn’t mean we are now World Cup favourites,” said the Eagles coach.,

Rohr admitted that his players were unable to cope with the pace of their opponents who were dangerous with set pieces. He still saluted his boys for the victory.

“They created some big opportunities to score and were dangerous from set pieces that we found difficult to cope with but I praise my team for their victory.

Victor Moses scored the only goal from the penalty spot.
