Premier League club delete tweet aimed at Spurs boss Mourinho

Premier League campaigners West Ham have deleted a tweet aimed to troll Jose Mourinho ahead of their clash against Tottenham on Saturday, November 23.

The Special One – who was appointed Spurs boss on Wednesday morning, November 20, following the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino – will be in the dugout for the London derby on Saturday.

And the Hammers will be hoping their tweet doesn’t come back to haunt them after they attempted to troll the 56-year-old.

The East End outfit posted a video on social media featuring clips and audio from various West Ham wins over Mourinho during his time with Chelsea and Manchester United.

Captioning the post, the Twitter admin said: “See you Saturday, Jose.”

But after less than two hours, the tweet had been deleted, with fans joking that the post is sure to backfire.

One commented: “Have we really gone and deleted the Mourinho tweet before I got a chance to see it? Needed a good laugh this morning knowing it come back to bite us after we lose 4-0 on Saturday.”

Another said: “West Ham really deleted that tweet about Mourinho? FFS football is about banter, if it backfired who the f*** cares.”

A third added: “Seriously, who the f*** is (in) charge of our social media? Playing like we are and then you tweet this? This WILL backfire massively.”

West Ham sit two places behind Spurs in the table, but can leapfrog their rivals with a win in Saturday’s early kick off.
