‘Pulev will end Anthony Joshua’s career’ next year

Anthony Joshua’s career as a top fighter will come to an end when he meets Kubrat Pulev, says boxing promoter Bob Arum.

The Brit reclaimed his heavyweight titles back from Ruiz in Saudi Arabia on December 7, six months after being knocked out by the American-born Mexican.

Joshua is expected to face Pulev next year following an order by the IBF. Pulev was to fight Joshua in 2017 but pulled out through injury.

And Arum, who promotes Pulev, has tipped his fighter to send Joshua tumbling back down the heavyweight ladder once again.

“Let me let you in on a secret, you may agree or disagree,” he told talkSPORT.

“But by that time [end of 2020], there ain’t going to be an Anthony Joshua as a top fighter.

“I’ve got a Bulgarian named Pulev who’s going to knock him on his a** in his next fight.

“I think everyone is in agreement that Pulev will be next.”

It looks like Joshua will have to vacate one of the heavyweight titles he has just reclaimed, with the WBO also ordering him to face Oleksandr Usyk next.
