Sergio Ramos has indicated that it wouldn’t be the right time to play a Spain game in Barcelona, due to the unrest in Catalonia.
Real Madrid captain gave El Clasico’s postponement as an example, but claimed that he wouldn’t mind playing a La Roja game in the region.”It is not the right time [to play a Spain game in Barcelona] as we saw with the Clasico,” Ramos told the press.
“Hopefully all this is fixed as soon as possible and our country can have a balance in everything.”Why not
go [and play] in Barcelona.”Surely there are people there who want to see the national team.”Playing with Spain gives a sense of pride, wherever it is.
“Ramos went on to reveal that he doesn’t plan to retire from La Roja any time soon, as he wants to win more trophies with the national team.”I haven’t put an end date on leaving the national team,” Ramos continued.”I like to enjoy the moment. The European Championship is coming up, which is going to be wonderful, and I would like to go to the World Cup [in 2022].”My hunger is still intact and I would like to win something else with the national team.”I want to enjoy every moment as long as I have hope and I feel good.
“The Supercopa de Espana will be hosted in Saudi Arabia and Ramos made clear that the players didn’t get to decide where they want the competition to take place.
