Rangnick parleys Haaland’s father over £68m Man Utd move

Ralf Rangnick has reportedly held talks with Erling Haaland’s father over a proposed £68m move to Manchester United in 2022.

After scoring 29 times from his 27 outings for Red Bull Salzburg, Haaland was linked with a move to Man Utd.

This came ahead of the winter transfer window in 2019/20. The forward eventually opted to sign for Borussia Dortmund and they paid around £17m to sign him.

The 21-year-old has been in prolific form for the Bundesliga outfit. He has netted 76 goals from just 74 appearances across all competitions.

Haaland is expected to leave Dortmund next summer as his £68m release clause will become active.

His agent Mino Raiola  has named Man City among four potential destinations for his player.

Manchester Evening News are now reporting that Rangnick has recently held talks with Haaland’s father  Alf-Inge Haaland  in an attempt to convince his son to join Man Utd.

Rangnick is said to have a good relationship with Alf-Inge. This goes back to 2018 as the United interim boss helped secure Haaland a move to Red Bull Salzburg from Molde.
