Referees for Napoli-Real Madrid and Inter-Benfica in UCL

French referee Clement Turpin will officiate the huge UCL clash between Napoli and Real Madrid, while Danny Makkelie of the Netherlands is assigned to Inter-Benfica.

The European fixtures resume next week and UEFA have named the refereeing teams appointed to Tuesday evening’s UCL games.

The biggest is at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, where Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid visit reigning champions of Italy Napoli.

French referee Turpin has been given the whistle, with support from Nicolas Danos, Alexis Auger and fourth official Stephanie Frappart.

The VAR team are also French, Jerome Brisard and Benoit Millot.

If nothing else, Napoli coach Rudi Garcia will be able to communicate easily with the officials.

Real Madrid have fond memories of Turpin, because he was in charge when they beat Liverpool 1-0 in the 2021-22 Champions League Final.
