Rodgers warned against selling Iheanacho

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has been told not to sell Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho this summer despite not getting on the scorer’s sheet in the last six months.

A report by Leicester City Mercury revealed that the talent of the Nigeria forward is yet to be utilized.

“He (Iheanacho) may be on a six-month goal drought but there is no indication that City has given up on Iheanacho, with Rodgers tasking himself with turning around the Nigerian’s fortunes.

There is talent there, City just needs to draw it out,” the report reads.

Iheanacho,  has made 33 appearances so far this term and has scored goals with three assists.

Due to his loss of form, Iheanacho was not invited Nigeria’s last Africa Nations Cup qualifierB against Seychelles and the international friendly Egypt last month.

The report also encouraged Rodgers to keep Wilfred Ndidi ahead of next season.
