Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has thrown his weight behind the United Nations campaign against zero discrimination which is aimed at promoting equality among member nations.

The Eagles coach took time out to visit the UN office to register his support for the cause which was founded by the international organisation in 2014. It has since become an annual event.

At the UN office, the German was received by the UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibé and other officials who were all delighted by his presence.

They  tweeted a picture of his visit and accompanied it with a good luck message to the Super Eagles ahead of next month’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Thank you ⚽ legend Gernot Rohr for your support to #zerodiscrimination & dignity for all! Best of luck to the @NGSuperEagles 🇳🇬 for the #WorldCup! #SoarSuperEagles

It was a timely visit by the coach ahead of the World Cup which also promotes fairplay among participating teams.

He is expected back in the country by weekend to kick-start Nigeria’s World Cup preparations with a friendly against Congo DR on May 28 in Portharcourt.
