Rohr roars: Eagles must beat Seychelles

Despite artificial pitch, injuries to key players

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has told SportingLife that his team is ready to brave all odds to beat host Seychelles in Saturday’s crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

In a chat with SportingLife from France the Camp of the team preparing for the match, Rohr rued injuries to some key players like striker Alex Iwobi, central defender William Troost Ekong and right back Ola Aina but he is confident his team has more quality players to achieve the expected victory against the host team Seychelles on Saturday.

The Franco-German football tactician has never hide his detestation for synthetic pitch since majority of his players play on natural turf in their respective clubs abroad. He however believed his players would work very hard in training sessions in France before the match to be accustomed with the turf that the AFCON qualifier would played in Seychelles.

“Artificial grass is not good for our players but we have to adapt since the match is going to be played on artificial grass in Seychelles”, Rohr disclosed.
